General Adaptive is a software business focused on mobile applications developed for the Apple, Google and Amazon app stores. Founded by Flynn Macfarlane & George Newman in 2014.

Flynn first developed aa in his Brisbane bedroom following years of design, iteration and testing through an eclectic array of concepts. The core idea of the game was conceived from the light and fan pattern on Flynn's bedroom ceiling. One night, Flynn converted that idea into the core game mechanic of aa that has since thrived in the app stores for close to eight years. The name aa was the simplest app identifier conceivable at the time, due to a two character naming limitation.
